Why playing 'is this disease in my region?' raises more questions than answers.

Since completing my PhD, I occasionally have clinicians reach out with questions about brucellosis or leptospirosis in dogs. I’m always happy to provide advice where I can, however one question I really struggle with is: “do I need to be worried about ‘x’ disease in my area?”
